Indulge In Italian Fashion
Tue, 29 Nov 11

The Italian Christmas is an annual celebration filled with religious holidays, lively festivals and family feasts; as well as a fun selection of seasonal styles to match the festivities. From traditional tailoring customs to contemporary styling, the small European country has a history of fashion that is woven into the nation's rich cultural tapestry.
Christmas in Italy is a holiday shared with the Winter solstice, a bitterly cold season that plays host to icy winds and blankets of snow. Despite the frosty White Christmas, Italians rarely dress in oversized clothing, opting for the classic appeal of tailored jackets and suits - even in the coldest winter snaps.
In the smaller villages, the town piazza’s are home to annual Christmas fairs, where residents can sample local arts and crafts such as hand dyed clothing and jewellery embedded with precious stones. It is also traditional for the villagers from the Abruzzi Mountains to travel to Rome for religious festivities dressed in elaborate costumes - intricately tasselled jackets, brightly coloured cloaks and sheepskin shawls. The snow drenched streets of Rome are dotted with vibrant festive clothing over Christmas, a sign of fashion frivolity amidst a winter wonderland.
During the development process for the summer 2011 range, the design team reflected on both Italian indulgence and Australian seasonal requirements in order to satisfy style and comfort. Each Shirt Studio shirt has been designed as a natural cooling system, with breathable fabric in lightweight 100% cotton. Share the festive spirit this Christmas and revel in the gift of giving with your loved ones, or perhaps, yourself!
