You may have notice the world is buzzing with style as soon as fashion week reaches the fashion capitals. With New York Fashion Week wrapped up, London now in production and Milan coming up this week it’s an all out ritzy show stopping extravaganza! Not to mention the lavish after parties and celebrity mingling. Read on for some of the key trends seen at New York Fashion Week 2012: |
Stripes –Marc Jacobs Warholian stripe collection was undoubtedly one of the biggest hits of the show with bold deck chair and preppie stripes while Yamamoto showcased black and white stripes. Other designers introduced stripes more subtlety into their collections. One thing all strip trends had in common were their 1960’s inspired themes. Shirt Studio knows stripes best so look forward to an array of stripes and pinstripes in upcoming seasons.
Lemon – Light luscious lemons, glowing canary yellows and even taxi cab yellows were seen gracing the catwalks. There’s nothing like a splash of sunshine to your wardrobe. We’ve recently added lemons into our collection and will keep up the trend as a highly requested.
Prints – Indian and Arab inspired fiery prints, blooms, abstract prints and other detailed motifs were a common theme for many designers. Our signature shirts also keep this theme in the contrast of the shirts either on the outside features for all to see or discreetly kept on the inside to give onlookers a flash of colourful print here and there.
Aquatic – Designers used frocks and other garments to show you their interpretation of the sea. Blues and bright aqua hues, seas creatures, birds and the beach were illustrated to match the Spring/Summer season. The highlight was Zac Posden’s sea foam mermaid gown. Blue’s take up a decent portion of Shirt Studio’s collection so be sure to see even the brighter aqua tones come into play.
The fashion week season is a highly respected and well organised ritual as it gets the world out of its mundane routine and injects style and inspiration into enthusiasts and the rest of society. The fashion industry is responsible for keeping civilisation interesting and polished.
