 Something for the Men

If women can spend hours at the day spa then so can you.  Premier men's salons in Brisbane are emerging and we've found Brisbane's best for you.

Élan is Brisbane's premier men's salon - a distinct, vibrant blend of hair fashions and day spa facilities – dedicated to the men of Brisbane. Élan is in essence a combination of a haven away from the boardroom or office, an epicentre for the latest men's hair styles and grooming, all trimmed with an underlying goal of providing great service.

We spoke to Élan and asked them to share some tips with the men of Brisbane.

Élan quick tips – ultra simple strategies for keeping your body in top nick.

Hair:  The general time between hair appointments is four weeks, to keep your hair tidy be sure to shampoo and condition regularly to keep your scalp and hair clean. Conditioning your hair is a very important step as it assists in preventing dirt from locking onto the hair. It is best to use a professional shampoo/conditioner range that does not contain detergents as these dry out your hair and scalp.

Face:  Our face is what makes us who we are, so we have to look after it – we only get one! Get a hold of a good cleanser and moisturiser, and use them daily. Cleansing removes dirt and impurities, whilst moisturizing refuels the skin and stops it from getting dry and fades lines. It is also a good idea to exfoliate the skin once a week to remove dead skin cells and keep the skin fresh - this is like polishing your car to keep it at its sparkling best.

Body: The trend at the moment is 'smooth is beautiful', so if you wax it is imperative that you have a good 'buffing cloth', lufer or glove and a great skin wash with anti-bacterial properties. Waxing removes hair from the follicle, leaving it exposed to bacteria that the skin can carry. Exfoliating with a cloth removes dead skin cells (our bodies shed these every day)

Something for the ladies

What can't women do without?  You guessed it shoes.  We all love shoes and simply can't get enough.   With us all leading such a busy life, we've found you shoe heaven at the click of a button.

Princess Chic was created to showcase unique designs  For the busy working professional or if you simply don't have access to the truly fabulous and unique shoes where you live then visit www.princesschic.com.au.  Princess Chic was designed with you in mind. Very soon you'll be able to click on the 'Custom made chic' and order something to suit. Shoe tips for ladies

The latest in shoes is BIG, that's right, the bigger and brighter the better.  I've seen the return of bold primary and fluro colours, massive platforms, gladiator straps, chunky 5 inch heels and this winter's craze – the booty.  But remember at the end of the day it is all about individual style and what makes you feel like a princess.  Follow the tips below and you can live happily ever after.

Do

  • Look for something different.  You don't want to be wearing shoes that are the same as every other aspiring fashionista in the office.
  • Look for styles that suit your personality. Your shoes give people an insight into your personality so don't be afraid to be yourself.
  • Make sure they fit properly. You don't want to have to amputate a toe to fit into them (even if they are on sale)
  • Buy at least one pair of designer shoes each year (it can be your little treat for being a fabulous princess). What girl doesn't want to flaunt her new Manolo's in front of her jealous girlfriends.

Don't

  • Don't be afraid to experiment with colour.  Hot pink stilettos will look great with jeans.
  • Don't be afraid to shop online. There are so many unique styles that are only available online. Most online stores have return policies if you need them and the best thing is you can indulge in your shoe fetish 24/7
  • Don't buy too many 'fashion' pieces each year as you won't wear them next season. Get a couple of fashion styles then stick to classic styles (stiletto's) with a twist

The best tip of all. ALWAYS, ALWAYS enjoy them, worship them and remember how fabulous you feel in gorgeous shoes. Embrace your inner shoe princess and let her shine!
